🚗 Latest DVSA Updates – June 2025
1. Extended Cancellation Notice:
As of April 8, 2025, learners must provide 10 full working days’ notice to cancel or reschedule a car driving test without forfeiting the fee. This change aims to reduce last-minute cancellations and improve test slot availability.
2. Driving Test Pilot Program:
Starting May 6, 2025, the DVSA initiated a pilot program at select test centres across the UK. Key changes include:

Increased exposure to higher-speed roads during tests.

Enhanced focus on independent driving using sat navs.

Inclusion of realistic driving scenarios to better assess candidates' readiness.
3. Recruitment of Additional Driving Examiners:
To address the backlog of driving tests, the DVSA is recruiting and training 450 new driving examiners across Great Britain, aiming to reduce waiting times to seven weeks by December 2025.
